In the experiments in this chapter, we use only the frontal part of this corpus, consisting of just over one hour of data. To facilitate our investigation, we further split the data into chunks of four seconds each, and obtained asynchronous segments by randomly mixing different four-second chunks of the audio and video streams. The total duration of the resulting asynchronous database was about eight hours. The original four-second chunks constitute the synchronous part of our data. Note that none of the BLPC approaches require training, with the exception of their CCA stage.
